Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with 160-hour externship.
• Or MA program with 1 year clinical medical assisting experience in past five years.
• Current MA certification with 1 year clinical experience.
• LPN or EMT with relevant clinical experience.
• Military trained medical personnel with 1-year clinical experience.
• Current BLS-C on hire or by end of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms in a welcoming environment.
• Obtain and record accurate medical histories from patients.
• Measure and document vital signs for patient assessments.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.

What You Will Do

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), OR
  • Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five years, OR
  • Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting, OR
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR
  • Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years, OR
  • Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years.
• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
