Job summary

TexomaCare, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care under physician supervision. You will interview patients, record vital signs, perform venipuncture, document in EMR, and prepare exam rooms while also assisting at the front desk as needed.

Requirements include a High School diploma (or equivalent), a Medical Assistant certificate or 1 year of MA experience, and BLS/CPR certification. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Familiarity with medical terminology required.
• Experience with patient check-in and check-out process.
• General medical office procedures knowledge.

• Proficiency in basic computer programs (Microsoft Office).
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Ability to perform professionally in all interactions.
• Experience with EKG and patient care testing.

Working with TexomaCare means you will work with a care team of physicians, advanced practitioners, and staff providing compassionate and quality care. TexomaCare is proud to be affiliated with Texoma Medical Center (TMC), the Texoma region's leader in hospital services. Texoma Medical Center is a 414-bed acute care facility located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. More than 3,500 employees, 400 multi-specialty physicians, and over 100 volunteers have helped to support the hospital in delivering quality, patient-focused care to the Texoma region for over 50 years.

Medical Assistant is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties, which include a assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviewing patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture, and procedures as directed by the physician within the scope of practice in the State. Documentation is recorded in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with IPM guideline. Prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. Assists in covering the front desk as required.
