Job description

Overview

Medical Administrative Assistant Intern for Opportunity Youth at Commonpoint Queens. Internship supports the Adult Workforce Department, which provides employment and support programs to adults, 18 and over, and opportunity youth, 16‑24.

Position Details

Schedule: 15–20 hours per week. The intern assists with patient records, scheduling, treatment‑room preparation, and practitioner support.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Obtain and record patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information, maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Coordinate daily administrative activities, including scheduling, patient check‑in and check‑out, and medical‑record maintenance.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assist practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care.
  • Deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
  • Ensure compliance with all health‑care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Prepare and administer medications for patients as directed by physicians.
Qualifications
  • No High School Diploma required.
  • Must be friendly and responsible.
