Job summary

Heritage Behavioral Health Center in Decatur, Illinois, is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant (MA) for Integrated Care. You will be the first point of contact for patients receiving primary care and behavioral health support, assisting nurses and coordinating care.

The position offers $18-$22 per hour, a Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM schedule with every other Friday off as a paid wellness day, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant required.
• Minimum age 21.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and check in patients, ensuring forms and consents are complete.
• Prepare patients for examinations, take vitals, and document health histories.
• Assist with check-out, referrals, and coordination of laboratory services.
• Support nurses with care coordination, clinical monitoring, and patient flow.
• Maintain understanding of medical practices, administrative processes, and policies.
• Uphold confidentiality at all times.

Your Role: Medical Assistant, Integrated Care

As a full-time Medical Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for clients receiving primary care services who may have serious mental illness and chronic health conditions. You will support our nursing team and play a vital role in clinical operations, patient engagement, and care coordination.
