Job summary

Ross Education Holdings, Inc. is seeking experienced Medical Assistants to become part-time instructors for year-round classes at our Ontario, OH campus. You will teach both clinical and administrative skills to a class capped at 24 students, following Ross curricula and lesson plans.

The role offers morning and evening sessions, with 9–31.5 hours per week. Prior teaching experience or a desire to teach is essential, and opportunities exist to step in as needed for substitutes.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in the medical assisting field and formal training from an accredited institution. Must be able to obtain a national certification as medical assistant.
  • Individuals without a formal education must have a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the medical field and a national certification.
  • Interest in teaching or prior experience.
  • Must be flexible and have a passion to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in the Medical Assisting classroom with a maximum of 24 students, covering clinical and administrative skills.
  • Class sessions are 4.5 hours in either day or evening sessions.
  • Learning the material and delivering lectures and demonstrations, working from the Ross lesson plans and curriculum.

Job Description

We are looking for experienced Medical Assistants to become fully trained instructors to teach year round classes as Primary Scheduled Instructors and Secondary Instructors ready to step in as needed for teaching assistant and substitutes as needed. Our schools and classes run year round. We are looking for 2-3 mornings a week or up to 5 and 2 evenings a week.

MA Qualifications
  • 3+ years’ experience in the medical assisting field and formal training from an accredited institution. Must be able to obtain a national certification as medical assistant. Individuals without a formal education, must have with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience working in the medical field and a national certification. Additional requirements or exceptions may be applicable based on the state, program, and accreditation requirements.

  • Ability to achieve or maintain credential and/or licensure within expected time frames
  • Demonstrates professionalism in manner, dress and conduct as a representative of Ross and a student mentor
  • Ability to remain objective and treat all students equally
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Clinical Coordinators need to have ability to travel to visit clinical sites or other meetings
  • Prior teaching or formal tutoring experience using a developed curriculum, preferred
