Job summary

The DirectShifts Medical Assistant role supports front and back office duties in a healthcare setting in Fort Wayne, IN. You will greet patients, room them, schedule visits, answer phones, take vitals, draw blood, and assist with vaccines while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years MA experience ( externship counted), EMR experience, and strong communication skills. Certification is strongly preferred and phlebotomy continues to be a focus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years medical assistant experience (including externship)
• Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred
• Occupational Health experience strongly preferred
• Phlebotomy/venipuncture and EMR experience required
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills

Job description

Looking for Medical Assistant who will perform Front/Back Office duties and must be comfortable to draw blood.

(must have good phlebotomy skills in the past 12 months)

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting both the front and back office, including greeting and rooming patients, scheduling, answering phones, taking vitals, drawing blood, administering vaccines, and providing additional clinical support wherever needed. Maintaining a collaborative relationship with the center's staff is a key ingredient to success in this position.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of medical assistant experience (in addition to an externship)

Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred

Occupational Health experience strongly preferred

Phlebotomy/venipuncture and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience required

Attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively with patients and strong computer skills required
