Job summary

Millennium Physician Group is seeking a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant III (CMA/RMA) to provide high-quality clinical and administrative support in outpatient and hospital environments. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, patient flow, and coordination under provider supervision.

The CMA/RMA will perform EKGs, immunizations, specimen collection, test processing, and ensure infection control and patient safety across settings.

Qualifications

  • CMA/RMA certification or equivalent credential.
  • Experience in outpatient and hospital settings preferred.
  • Accurate documentation and data entry in the EHR.

  • Assists providers during examinations, minor procedures, wound care and diagnostic testing.
  • Performs EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection.
  • Prepares, labels and processes laboratory samples and point-of-care tests.
  • Maintains infection control, safety protocols and equipment calibration.
  • Documents clinical data and patient updates in the EHR.
  • Schedules, confirms and tracks appointments, referrals and test results.
  • Verifies insurance coverage and assists with prior authorizations, billing and coding.

Job Description Summary

The Certified/Registered Medical Assistant III (CMA/RMA) is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate clinical and administrative support to physicians, hospitalists, and other healthcare professionals in both outpatient and hospital settings. This role ensures efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and exceptional patient care through coordination, education, and hands‑on service delivery while adhering to established clinical guidelines, provider supervision standards, and organizational policies.

Responsibilities
  • Conducts comprehensive patient intakes, including obtaining vital signs, recording medical histories, and reviewing medication and allergy information.
  • Assists providers during examinations, minor procedures, wound care, and diagnostic testing while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Performs EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection in accordance with policy and competency standards.
  • Prepares, labels, and processes laboratory samples and point-of-care tests accurately.
  • Maintains infection control, safety protocols, and equipment calibration across all clinical areas.
  • Supports providers with patient triage, care coordination, and transitions across clinical settings.
  • Provides patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, chronic condition management, and preventive care.
  • Accurately document clinical data, provider instructions, and patient updates in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Schedules, confirms, and tracks patient appointments, referrals, authorizations, and test results to ensure timely care.
  • Verifies insurance coverage and assists with prior authorizations, billing, and coding processes as needed.
  • Monitors inventory levels and prepares examination or procedure rooms with required supplies and equipment.
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and safety drills to support continuous quality improvement.
  • Facilitates communication among patients, providers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and all compliance standards.
  • Upholds compassionate, culturally competent care while maintaining sensitivity to diverse patient populations. Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Compensation Range

$22.00 to $33.00

The anticipated base salary range represents the Company's good‑faith estimate of the compensation it reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
