Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant II for a remote-friendly role. The position supports a high-volume ambulatory setting and requires strong patient care skills, medical knowledge, and ability to work within a clinical team.

On-site reporting may be required for downtime or meetings, with a one-hour radius constraint for onsite reporting. Education includes a high school diploma or GED; Certified Medical Assistant is preferred, CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Update and validate patient demographics and insurance details.
• Support multiple providers to stay on schedule and triage questions.
• Notify patients of lab results and medication refills as directed.
• Obtain prior authorizations for medications.

Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**Call Center Support:* Answering incoming calls for all providers within SCMG* Routing messages correctly with attention to details within messages* Updating & validating patient demographics & insuranceOther duties include:* Support multiple providers simultaneously, providing any necessary services to remain on schedule throughout the day* Monitor patient messages and triage patient calls* Notify patients of lab results and medication refills, as directed* Obtain prior authorizations for medications**Requirements:*** Knowledge of medical practice to assist in patient care.* Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.* Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.* Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.* **Candidate must live within 1 hour from Silver Cross Hospital main campus to ensure capability to report onsite for downtime procedure or meetings.****Education**:* High school diploma or GED required.
