Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II for per diem day-time float coverage across multiple offices (Needham, Needham Heights, Dedham, Medfield, Canton, Wayland, Waltham, and Lexington). The MA II greets patients, collects information, performs EKGs and basic procedures, and supports providers in a busy ambulatory setting.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a Medical Assistant Certificate, with 1–3 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate required.
• 1–3 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and serves as a communication resource.
• Takes complete and accurate information from patients in person and by phone and communicates to providers.
• Obtains vitals, weight, blood pressure, pulse and temperature, performs EKGs, injections and/or phlebotomy, and assists providers.
• Performs departmental screening, lab tests and specimen collection and maintains quality control.
• Assembles records and handles requests for patient information per policy.
