Located in Hillcrest, the McGrath Outpatient Pavilion is a state-of-the-art, 250,000-square-foot medical facility designed to meet the growing healthcare needs of our region. Spanning six floors, this advanced facility is home to key clinical programs and offers specialized diagnostic, treatment, and surgical services. With a strong emphasis on cancer care, we are committed to delivering world-class medical services in a patient-centered environment.

Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the clinic supervisor and general supervision of the clinic providers, performs patient care duties requiring specific knowledge and training within the Business and Professions Code of California and the regulations of The Joint Commission (TJC). Responsibilities include front office management, appointment scheduling, patient check-in, authorizations, billing, payment processing, supply chain and forms management, as well as back office duties such as equipment management, environmental care, cleaning/disinfecting, and possibly vaccine administration and patient treatment assistance. Use electronic medical record software for charting, patient screening, translation (Bilingual English/Spanish), and chart preparation. Occasionally, may assist in other departments.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or completion of a Medical Assistant Training program.
  • Current BART or BLS certification, with a commitment to obtain BART within 6 months of hire.
  • At least 2 years of Medical Assistant experience, preferably within a large, complex healthcare system.
  • Knowledge of patient care, environmental care functions, equipment and supply management, and infection control procedures.
  • Familiarity with online scheduling, universal precautions, and proper body mechanics.
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory setting.
  • Medical terminology training or certification.
  • Experience in neurology or specialty practices.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system.
  • Previous back-office experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Special Conditions
  • Ability to work various hours and locations as needed.
  • Employment contingent upon criminal background check and physical exam.
Compensation

Pay Transparency Act: Annual full pay range is $57,671, prorated if less than full-time. Hourly rate: $27.62. Compensation factors include experience, skills, education, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. The posted salary reflects the budgeted range; actual pay may vary based on internal considerations.
