Job Description

UTHealth Houston Neurosciences is hiring for a Medical Assistant II to join their team. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, patient intake, coordinating care via referrals, scheduling surgeries, triaging calls, and more. Experience in surgical practice is a plus.

Position Summary: Supports clinical team in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote quality patient care and satisfaction.
• Prepare for patient visits, including scheduling and documentation.
• Room patients, record vital signs, chief complaint, and other clinical data.
• Perform clinical procedures as validated by competency.
• Maintain clinical areas and assist with procedures.
• Schedule follow-ups and referrals, perform clerical duties.
• Respond to emergencies, maintain confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Certifications: Use of clinic equipment, BLS certification, and possibly CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA certification.

Minimum Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; 1-year related experience; completion of MA training or equivalent experience with certification.

Physical Requirements: Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force.
