Job summary

Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to support patient care and administrative functions.

You will assist with health care services, obtain specimens for routine lab studies, and help coordinate patient flow and scheduling. The role also includes serving as a preceptor for new medical assistant orientation and for student instruction, and leading an annual project in Service Excellence, Quality, Staff Development, IT, or

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting Program required.
• 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient setting required; CMA certification and BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with healthcare services and obtain specimens for routine lab studies.
• Assist with administrative functions such as coordinating patient flow, scheduling appointments, and handling phone messages.
• Serve as a trained preceptor for new medical assistant orientation and for instruction of medical assistant students.
• Lead or participate in one annual project in Service Excellence, Quality, Staff Development, Information Technology, or Medical Group functions.

Serve as a trained preceptor for new medical assistant orientation and for instruction of medical assistant students. Responsible for one project or initiative annually in the one of the following areas: Service Excellence, Quality, Staff Development, Information Technology, or Medical Group functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• H igh School Diploma or GED required.
• G raduate of an accredited Medical Assisting Program required.
• 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient practice or clinical specialty required. Active status for Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required. BLS certification required.

P REFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• A ssociates Degree preferred.
