Job summary

Sutter Health in Oakland, CA is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and clerical support within the patient care team. You will assist with back-office duties, patient preparation for exams, and injections, while maintaining accurate records in the EHR system.

Candidate should have a Medical Assistant diploma, 160-hour externship, HS diploma or GED, and BLS certification, with at least 1 year of relevant experience. This is a full-time, 40-hour workweek with day shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; MA program diploma required.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with diploma within 90 days.
• Completion of MA externship (160 hours) verified by MA school.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide back-office and patient-related support to the care team.
• Assist clinicians with exam preparation and patient flow.
• Administer injections and take vital signs as directed.
• Use EHR and MS Office to document and manage patient data.
• Communicate clearly with patients and families; prioritize tasks.
