Job summary

University Hospitals seeks a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. You will room patients, take vital signs, document in the EMR, assist with procedures, support providers, and help maintain smooth patient flow while delivering patient-centered care.

This role requires completion of a Medical Assistant program and a high school diploma or GED, with at least 1 year of clinical experience. CMA and BLS certifications are preferred.

What You Will Do

• Responsible for all front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.


• Performs patient centered care delegated by Provider


• Provides a safe environment for patients

• Performs other duties as assigned.


• Complies with all policies and standards.


• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.


• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
