Job summary

AltaMed Health Services is seeking a Medical Assistant II to deliver direct patient care and provide empathetic, efficient service in a busy clinic setting. You will document in the EHR, support back-office tasks, and assist nursing leadership while promoting a positive patient experience.

Requirements include a Medical Assistant certificate and at least 1 year of outpatient experience; bilingual ability and a current BLS certification are highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certificate required; high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of back-office Medical Assistant experience in outpatient/clinic.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese strongly preferred depending on location.
• Valid BLS certification or higher per AHA/Red Cross guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and essential clerical support in the clinical setting.
• Document all encounters in the EHR and assist the Nursing Supervisor/Manager.
• Mentor and train Medical Assistant team and support Back-Office processes.
