AltaMed Health Services is seeking a Medical Assistant II to act as an ambassador in assigned clinics, PSC, or Patient Registry teams. The MA II welcomes patients, supports direct clinical care, and ensures accurate documentation in the EHR while aiding administrative duties.

The role also includes mentoring other MAs and offering telephone support at the Patient Service Center. The successful candidate will have a Medical Assistant certificate with a high school diploma, at least 1 year of

• Medical Assistant certificate with high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of back-office Medical Assistant experience in outpatient/clinic settings preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese strongly preferred depending on location.
• Valid BLS certification or higher required per AHA/Red Cross guidelines.

Responsabilidades

• Welcome patients and create a positive patient experience while managing expectations with compassion and respect.
• Assist in direct patient care and perform routine clinical procedures and technical/clerical support.
• Document all specialties in the EHR and support back-office processes.
• Mentor and train Medical Assistant team and provide feedback to Nursing Supervisor/Manager.
• Provide other duties over the telephone when working at the Patient Service Center.

Job Overview

The Medical Assistant (MA) II functions as an AltaMed ambassador at the assigned clinic, PSC, or Patient Registry team. The MA is welcoming and attentive to the needs of all patients and creates a positive patient experience by managing expectations while demonstrating compassion and respect. The MA assists in the provision of direct patient care by performing routine patient care procedures and technical/clerical support services in the clinical setting. The MA builds relationships with patients, listening to them and gaining their trust. The MA demonstrates compassion and respect and will be proactive in managing patients’ expectations. In addition, the Medical Assistant documents all specialties in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and assists with administrative responsibilities that include providing feedback on Back-Office processes to the Nursing Supervisor/Manager. Lastly, the MA assists in achieving department goals and objectives by providing support and guidance to the Medical Assistant team as a mentor and trainer. If working at the Patient Service Center, the MA provides other duties over the telephone.

Minimum Requirements

• A Medical Assistant certificate, along with a high school diploma or equivalent required.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a back office Medical Assistant preferred in the outpatient setting, medical practice, or clinic setting.
• Phlebotomy certified preferred
• Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification, preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on location, strongly preferred.
• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Compensation

$26.00 - $30.55 hourly
