Qualifications

• Previous medical assistant experience in vital sign accuracy, EKGs, medication administration, and point of care testing.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance at check-in.
• Process medical records and incoming communications.
• Order supplies and equipment as needed for the outpatient unit.
• Room patients and prepare them for care with the nurse team.
• Promote teamwork with all members of the healthcare team.

Position Summary

Performs clinical and clerical duties in an outpatient setting under the direction of the nurse manager. Responsible for patient registration and insurance verification, record processing, supply and equipment requisitioning as appropriate, rooming patients, and management of incoming telephone calls. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: Previous medical assistant experience in vital sign accuracy, EKGs, medication administration, and point of care testing
