Job summary

Unio Health Partners in California is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support patient care across clinics. You will work with physicians and staff to perform procedures, take vitals, document in EMR, and ensure smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms, assisting with examinations, obtaining authorizations, and coordinating front-office tasks. A high school diploma and healthcare experience are required; bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certificate is a plus.
• 4–5 years of healthcare experience including EMR system experience.
• Bilingual-Spanish is a plus.

• Ensure efficient turnover of patient rooms and maintain timely daily schedule flow.
• Provide patient care: taking vitals, documenting intake forms, medical history, explain procedure instructions, assist with follow-up care as needed.
• Maintain instruments and equipment: sterilize, disinfect, autoclave, and follow storage specs.
• Submit prior authorizations for medications, procedures, and labs.
• Prepare EMR: retrieve/upload labs, diagnostic studies, op reports, authorizations, and upcoming appointment docs.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Medical Assistant II is responsible for patient care delivery by working cooperatively with all staff members in planning, performing, assisting with procedures, appointments, patient relations, follow up care, and other tasks as requested by a physician. The Medical Assistant II adheres to all standards of healthcare to provide a professional, comfortable, and efficient work environment for patients, physicians, and staff members.

What you will be doing

• Ensureefficient turnover of patient rooms andmaintaintimelydaily schedule flow.
• Provide patient care: taking vitals, documenting intake forms (this may include portalassistance), medical history, explain procedure instructions,assistwithfollow upcare instructions as needed.
• Maintain Instruments and Equipment: sterilized,disinfect,autoclaved,and follow proper equipment cleaning and storage per item specifications.
• Submit prior authorizations for ordered medications,procedures,and labs.
• Daily preparation of EMR: Retrieve anduploading oflabs, diagnostic studies,post opreports, authorizations, and any documentation necessary for patient upcoming appointments. Confirm medication/s or supplies are in stock prior to patient appointments.
• Supportfront officecoordinatordutieswhen necessary: appointment scheduling, answering phones, retrieving,andresponding tovoicemails and electronic correspondences.
• Train new Medical Assistants and Externs in duties andprocedures asassigned.

What you will bring to the team

• Phlebotomy Certificate is a plus
• High school diploma or GED certificaterequired.
• Bilingual-Spanish is a plus.
• 4-5years of healthcare experience required including Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system experience.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills preferred (languages may vary by location based on patient population). Employees may be asked toassistwith patient communication or interpretation in their language(s) of fluency, asappropriate, to support patient care and operational needs.
• Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Travel

• Occasional travel to any of the UNIO locations may be required.
