Job summary

CleanSlate Centers in Altoona, PA is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support clinicians with clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth patient experience. The role emphasizes phlebotomy, injections, and accurate EMR documentation in a fast-paced recovery-focused setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, or LPN program.
• 1+ year experience as a Medical Assistant and in phlebotomy.
• Willingness to train on injections.
• Experience in behavioral health, billing, or healthcare settings is a plus.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Proficient in EMRs and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by gathering medical history and vitals.
• Perform phlebotomy, urine drug screenings, and CLIA-waived testing.
• Administer injections per provider direction and training.
• Assist with prescription management and medication counts.
• Support outreach efforts: appointment reminders, re-engagement, and patient follow-up.
• Manage lab and PPE supplies, maintain accurate documentation in the EMR.
• Collaborate with front desk and lab teams to support daily workflow.
• Uphold safety standards, patient confidentiality, and infection control protocols.

What You'll Do:

What We’re Looking For:
