Job summary

Summa Health System seeks a Medical Assistant for full-time days (Mon–Fri) with benefits eligibility. You will work at the Akron office 3 days per week and rotate travel to Wadsworth, Green & Stow 2 days per week.

Surgical clinic and wound care knowledge is required. Applicants should be a graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program with at least 1 year of medical office experience and strong skills in Word, Excel and EMR—plus excellent communication and HIPAA confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program.
• One (1) year related medical office experience; or externship; or associated experience or education.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and EMR.
• Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Ability to travel between locations as needed within the medical group.
• For SHMG (medical group) employees: Ability to obtain Basic Life Support certification within six months of hire with Summa Health and ability to maintain the BLS certification.
• Must pass yearly clinical skill competencies
