Job summary

The Indian Health Center of Santa Clara Valley is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, prepare exam rooms, and assist with in-house labs in a fast-paced health center. Responsibilities include vital signs, basic labs, EKG, charting, immunization data entry, and patient education, with opportunities to grow through teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with Medical Assistant certification or externship.
• Fluent in English/Spanish; computer skills a plus.
• Minimum two years experience as medical assistant in a health care setting.
• Ability to lift and carry 20 lbs; stand and/or walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up examining rooms and prepares patients for medical exams.
• Perform back-office tasks: vital signs, basic labs, EKG, and charting.
• Assist providers during scope exams and procedures.
• Maintain chart organization and assist with patient data and immunization records.
• Attend regular staff meetings and assist with patient questionnaires.
