Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. (CHSI) is seeking a Medical Assistant Tier 1 to support the Site Manager and collaborate with RNs and Providers. You will prepare patients for visits, chart in the EHR, and follow CHSI protocols and California MA scope of practice.

This full-time, non-exempt role in Bloomington, CA involves clinical responsibilities, patient interaction, and adherence to infection control and safety policies. Training and professional development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited school.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required and active on hire.
• Venipuncture, injection and phlebotomy certifications required.
• 0 to 2 years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, professional interaction with patients, visitors and staff.
• Participate in quality improvement projects and PCMH initiatives.
• Shall report to the Site Manager for administrative duties and work with the RN for clinical tasks.
• Communicate safety concerns to clinical authorities and document issues.
• Complete charting and ensure Provider orders are followed in the EHR.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and stocked clinical environment.
• Handle emergencies per CHSI policy and procedures.
