Job summary

ChristianaCare's Primary Care at Elkton is seeking a professional Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid clinical skills to support physicians in virtual and on-site care. You will perform basic clinical tasks, assist with exams, manage EMR updates and scheduling, and handle clerical duties to ensure quality care for patients of all ages.

This position offers competitive pay ($19.48–$28.24 hourly) and comprehensive benefits; schedule is Monday 7am-7pm, Tuesday–Friday

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the ANSI.

Responsibilities

• Greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs), assists with exams, and maintains exam rooms and equipment.
• Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling, while handling clerical duties and supporting video visits and patient portal access.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Graduate of Medical Assistant Program or CMA certification (NCCA/ANSI)
