Job summary

ChristianaCare Primary Care at Perryville is seeking a professional Medical Assistant I to support physicians in both virtual and on-site patient care. You will perform essential clinical and clerical duties, prepare patients for visits, and assist with exams to ensure high-quality care at Perryville and potentially Elkton locations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and medical assistant certification or graduation from a recognized program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by NCCA or ANSI.
• Strong communication and clinical skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Greet and support patients virtually and in person.
• Prepare patients for visits and assist with exams.
• Perform basic clinical tasks such as testing, injections, and EKGs.
• Maintain exam rooms and equipment.
• Manage EMR updates, scheduling, referrals, authorizations and patient communications.
• Handle clerical duties and troubleshoot video visits.
• Support patient portal access.
