Summa Health Medical Group in Akron, OH seeks a Medical Assistant I for the Cardiology Office. The role is full-time, days, Monday–Friday, with a $1,500 sign-on bonus and benefits eligibility. Requirements include graduation from an approved Medical Assistant program and one year of related medical office experience or externship.

Proficiency in Word/Excel/EMR, HIPAA knowledge, and willingness to travel between locations are needed. BLS within six months is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program.
• One year of related medical office experience or externship or related education/experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and EMR.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Ability to travel between locations within the medical group as needed.
• BLS certification within six months of hire with Summa Health and ability to maintain it.
• Must pass yearly clinical skill competencies.

• Required ability to handle bodily fluids and possible exposure to communicable disease.
• For SHMG (medical group) employees: Ability to obtain Basic Life Support certification within six months of hire with Summa Health and ability to maintain the BLS certification.
• Must pass yearly clinical skill competencies

• Medium: Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force continuously to move objects. Ability to bend, stand, and walk for extended time.

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
