Description

ROCK STAR Medical Assistant? We're hiring at our Oregon City location!

Light up a room on rooming days? You'll fit right in.

At WHA, our patients are our people. Together we're a team of dedicated OB/GYN physicians, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, certified nurse-midwives, nurse practitioners, and counselors—all working to support our diverse patient community. We serve over 50,000 people annually across 11 clinic locations in the Portland area. Our patients have complex and diverse backgrounds, and our goal is to help each thrive.

As a Medical Assistant here, you'll have opportunities to learn and grow across different providers and subspecialties within obstetrics and gynecology. Whether you're interested in holistic care with nurse-midwives or routine gynecology issues, this is the place for you. Long-term relationships with patients during pregnancy? You belong here.

We're looking for a special Medical Assistant. You are kind, relatable, adaptable, open-minded, trained, eager to learn, and compassionate—ready to support patients through vulnerable times. We welcome your unique qualities and enthusiasm.

What We Offer Our Medical Assistants:

Flexibility with security

  • We accommodate various schedules, including four-tens, Saturdays, and evenings (telehealth only for now).
  • Hourly pay depends on experience and skills (bilingual? Nice!).
  • Shift differentials for extra hours, weekend work, and coverage at different hubs.

Professional growth + support

  • Comprehensive onboarding, onsite mentorship, and access to training resources.
  • Ongoing skills training in patient experience, CPR, medical terminology, cultural competency, and health equity.
  • Opportunities for cross-training in clinic roles, procedures, and patient care activities.
  • Incentives for taking on additional responsibilities like preceptorship.
  • Annual education budget with flexible use.

Team building and culture

  • Cross-departmental relationship building.
  • Participation in employee resource groups for personal and professional growth.
  • Input into workplace priorities and culture evolution.
  • Fun, energetic, collaborative environment with events and celebrations.
Responsibilities:
  • Partner closely with clinicians as an integral care team member.
  • Prepare patient information, enter data into electronic records, and organize paperwork.
  • Escort patients, take histories, and assess vital signs to set the stage for effective care.
  • Ensure clinician orders are entered and follow-up is completed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet patient needs.
  • Uphold WHA's values and commitment to patient experience.
Qualifications

What You Bring:

  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program or LPN license in Oregon (required).
  • Certification through AAMA, NCCT, or AMT, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire (required).
  • CPR certification (required).
  • Experience with phlebotomy/injections preferred.
  • Experience with Epic EMR is a plus.

Salary is determined based on experience and education, per Oregon State Pay Equity Law. Please include all relevant experience and skills in your application.
