Job summary

Orthopedic Centers of Colorado is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to assist physicians with basic patient care and provide exceptional patient service in a busy orthopedic practice in Colorado. You will perform rooming, order creation, Phreesia/MIPS input, exam room prep, instrument sterilization, and assist during procedures, ensuring accurate records and clear communication.

Required CMA and BLS certifications, 2 years of MA experience preferred, strong patient focus, reliable

Responsibilities

• Basic rooming and creating surgery and x-ray orders.
• Phreesia/MIPS data entry and patient records management.
• Maintain supplies, prepare and clean rooms, sterilize instruments.
• Assist physician during procedures and monitor patient in recovery.
• Enter all preliminary notes, lab slips, radiology, and pathology reports.
• Educate patients on policies, medications, pain management, and home care.
• Process consent forms and handle patient/physician/pharmacy communications.
• Assist front desk with rescheduling and OSHA sign-offs.

Responsible for assisting physicians with basic patient care and providing unparalleled customer service to patients while adhering to established protocols, processes and volume without ever compromising quality.

Essential Functions

• Basic rooming, along with creating surgery orders & x-ray orders
• Phreesia/MIPS Input
• Maintain supplies, equipment, prepare and clean exam/procedure rooms, stocking and sterilizing instruments ensuring patient rooms are stocked, cleaned, and presentable
• Assist physician as needed during procedure; monitor patient in recovery area
• Ensure all initial consultations, pertinent notes, lab slips, radiology and pathology reports are entered in the patient’s file and available to the physician prior to patient arrival
• Provide patient education with regards to office policies, medications, management of pain/injury/disease, home treatments and special diets using appropriate medical terminology as directed by the physician
• Ensure all consent forms are completed, signed and filed
• Respond to patient / physician / pharmacy calls calls/messages and assist with their needs
• Assist front desk with rescheduling patients
• OSHA sign off lists

Required Qualifications And Skills

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years working as a medical assistant preferred
• Strong focus on patient quality and customer service
• Excellent follow through to see tasks to completion
• Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills
• Possesses a high degree of self-motivation and produces high quality work with minimal supervision

Desired Qualifications And Skills

• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
• Experience with Allscripts
