A leading oncology provider in Texas is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in Austin. The role involves assisting physicians, maintaining schedules, and ensuring compliance with standards. Texas Oncology is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team! This position will support the Medical Oncology Department at our 4101 James Casey Street #100 location in Austin, Texas. The typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
This position will be classified as Level 1, 2, or Sr based on candidate experience.

Under supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties, promotes efficient patient flow, and performs clerical tasks such as answering phones and maintaining schedules. Supports compliance with US Oncology standards and ethics.
Level 1 candidates should have a high school diploma, certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred, 0-3 years of experience, and BCLS certification within 3 months of hire. Certified Medical Assistant is preferred.
Level 2 requires at least 3 years of experience and phlebotomy skills preferred. Sr level requires at least 5 years of experience, current CPR certification, and hospital or clinic experience.
The role involves physical activity such as handling patients, standing, walking, lifting up to 40 lbs, and requires good vision and hearing. The environment may expose staff to communicable diseases and other hazards typical of an oncology clinic.
