Job summary

Lee Health in Fort Myers, FL is seeking Medical Assistants to support Primary Care, Internal Medicine, and Family Medicine across Southwest Florida. Open to experienced Medical Assistants or recent grads.

You will perform phlebotomy, assist with examinations, manage records, and coordinate multiple clinical tasks in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred.
• Medical Assistant experience is preferred but not required for graduates of an accredited medical assisting program within the past two years.
• One year of recent clinical experience within the last four years in a physicians office or hospital outpatient department may be accepted in place of an accredited medical assisting credential.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and help create a positive, comfortable care experience.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers with minor procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and laboratory specimen processing.
• Obtain, document, and communicate accurate patient information.
• Administer medications under the direct supervision of a physician or physician assistant and in accordance with applicable regulations and organizational policies.
• Provide patient instructions and support follow-up care.
• Maintain medical records and prepare patient care areas.
• Coordinate prescription requests, information requests, and other clinical support activities.
• Operate medical equipment safely while following patient safety standards and established procedures.
