Job summary

Pascack Valley Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Bergen County outpatient team in Paramus. The role supports physicians and providers with clinical and administrative duties, maintaining EMR records and coordinating patient care across multiple sites in northern New Jersey.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, recording vitals, assisting with visits, preparing rooms, and coordinating referrals and imaging orders to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic EMR and Microsoft Office knowledge.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, obtain vital signs, document medical histories and support care plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records in EMR with clinical documentation and coding.
• Assist physicians and clinical staff with delegated patient care activities and daily practice operations.
• Prepare and disinfect examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Coordinate patient referrals, insurance authorizations, prescription requests, and lab or imaging orders.
• Communicate with pharmacies, hospitals, and labs to facilitate patient care and follow-up.
