Job summary

University Health KC's GI Clinic in Kansas City, MO is hiring a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced clinic. The role involves preparing patients, taking vitals, administering meds and immunizations, and assisting with minor procedures.

You will maintain EMR records, coordinate with providers, educate patients on treatment plans, meds, and follow-up care. A CMA certification and BLS are required, along with completion of an accredited MA program.

Qualifications

What You'll Be Doing

• Getting Patients Ready to Shine – Prep charts, check vitals, and set the stage for great care!
• Hands-On Clinical Work – Administer meds, give immunizations, collect specimens, and assist with minor procedures like wound care, suture removal, and more.
• Tech Savvy & Detail-Oriented – Keep patient records up to date in our electronic medical records (EMR) system.
• Team Player Extraordinaire – Support providers, participate in team huddles, and help keep the clinic running like a well-oiled machine.
• Patient Educator – Help patients understand their treatment plans, new medications, and follow-up care.

What You Bring To The Table

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NRCMA, or CCMA) – Required at time of hire and must be maintained.
• Current BLS Certification (or ability to obtain before starting).
• Knowledge of POCT, Immunizations, and Injections – You’ll be giving shots like a pro!
• Strong Problem-Solving Skills – You think on your feet and adapt quickly.
• Excellent Organization & Time Management – You keep things running like a well-oiled machine.
• Customer Service Rockstar – Patients feel comfortable and cared for in your hands.
