Job summary

University Health KC's GI Clinic in Kansas City, MO is hiring a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced clinic. The role involves preparing patients, taking vitals, administering meds and immunizations, and assisting with minor procedures.

You will maintain EMR records, coordinate with providers, educate patients on treatment plans, meds, and follow-up care. A CMA certification and BLS are required, along with completion of an accredited MA program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NRCMA, or CCMA) required at time of hire.
• Current BLS Certification before starting.

Responsibilities

• Prep charts, check vitals, and set the stage for great care.
• Administer meds, immunizations, collect specimens.
• Assist with minor procedures like wound care and suture removal.
• Maintain patient records in our EMR system.
• Support providers and participate in team huddles.
