Job summary

HonorHealth in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Gastroenterology-East Mesa clinic. The MA will provide front and back office support, escort patients, schedule visits, and maintain exam rooms as part of a patient-centered team.

The role requires completion of an MA program, a high school diploma, and BLS certification. Experience in medical offices is preferred and a sign-on bonus may be offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of a MA training program is required.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 6 months experience as Medical Assistant preferred.
• BLS certification required or in place.

Responsibilities

• Prepares treatment rooms and escorts patients to exam rooms.
• Obtains brief history and documents chief complaint; takes vital signs.
• Assists physician/clinician during exams and procedures.
• Performs venipuncture and basic CLIA-waived tests.
• Performs front desk duties: reception, scheduling, phone calls, and chart maintenance.
• Organizes insurance authorizations for therapies, testing and referrals.
