Job summary

Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Pediatric Team in Boulder, CO. This 36-hour-per-week role runs Monday through Thursday with Fridays off and a Saturday morning shift every 7th Saturday from 8 am–12 pm.

You will support board-certified pediatricians, deliver family-centered care from birth to 18 years, and help prepare exam rooms, assist during visits, and educate families. Reliability and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of Medical Assistant education; certification not required but preferred.
• Previous MA experience in a clinic setting is preferred.
• Experience working in pediatric or family practice settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive professional nursing care to patients and families.
• Assist providers during examinations and treatments.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure supplies and instruments are ready.
• Recognize emergencies and respond with appropriate nursing judgment.
• Support procedures and patient education as directed by clinicians.

Summary

Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is currently seeking Medical Assistant (MA) candidates to join our Pediatric Team! This is a benefits-eligible position working 36 hours per week Monday through Thursday with Fridays off and a Saturday morning shift from 8 am - 12 pm every 7th Saturday. This position is located in Boulder, CO.

Our pediatric clinics deliver preventive, developmental, and medical care, partnering with families to support children's health and well-being through every stage of growth.

Job Duties

• Provides comprehensive professional nursing care to individuals and/or families acting as the patient's advocate, facilitator, and educator.
• Recognizes, evaluates, and responds to emergency or unusual situations in the clinic, using nursing judgment to ensure medical care.
• Assists the patient and/or instructs the patient in preparation for the provider's examination and/or specific treatment.
• Prepares examination/treatment rooms for provider's use by ensuring that appropriate supplies, equipment and instruments are available and ready on a daily basis. Maintains examination/treatment rooms in a neat and orderly manner.
• Assists the provider with examination by anticipating needs for instruments and supplies. (e.g., minor surgery, pelvic examinations, diagnostic procedures, etc.)

Required Experience

• Must be able to recognize and identify patient's symptoms and use appropriate professional judgment in course of action.
• Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to and work at all four (4) BMC sites, as assigned.
• Must be available by phone to accept assignment changes as needed.

Education Requirements(one Of The Following Options)

• Completion of Medical Assistant education. *Certification is not required but preferred.
• Other completed medical training, education, and proof of active certification is an acceptable substitution of Medial Assistant specific credentials. (Examples include but are not limited to: EMT, Surgical Tech, CNA, etc.).
• Military medical training and education with supporting documentation is an acceptable substitution of Medial Assistant specific credentials.
• College graduates with a completed four (4) year bachelor's degree is an acceptable substitution of Medial Assistant specific credentials.*College transcripts must reflect completed health science course work. Please submit a copy of your unofficial college transcripts at the time of applying.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) in a clinic setting, preferred

The starting hourly pay range for this position is commensurate with experience:

• $18.91 - $27.98/hour
