Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Florida is seeking a Medical Assistant to support front office operations and cross-train for back-office tasks at our North Tampa health center in Sarasota, FL. The role involves patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include patient intake, STI screenings, birth control education, and maintaining clean exam rooms while upholding confidentiality and PP Florida values.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of hands-on Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• New graduates may be considered for the right candidate.
• Experience with patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and front desk tasks.
• Strong commitment to reproductive health and PP Florida mission.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and collect payments.
• Conduct patient intake, including medical and social histories, STI screenings, and point-of-care testing.
• Educate patients on birth control options and pregnancy-related services.
• Ensure exam rooms are prepped and sanitized; assist with clinical tasks and lab work.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation; support health center operations.
