Job summary

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team in Lakeland, FL. You will work closely with a primary care physician to deliver high-quality patient care and an exceptional guest experience, serving as both a Medical Receptionist and assisting with clinical tasks.

The role requires clinical duties, rooming patients, taking vitals, phlebotomy, injections, and collaboration with the care team to address gaps in care. CPR/BLS cert is required at start date.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program.
• National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
• MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required.
• CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to room and ensure exam rooms are cleaned and stocked.
• Review previous medical information and gather updated health information from the patient.
• Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures.
• Work with contracted labs for additional tests.
• Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations per provider orders.
• Partner with care team to develop patient care plans and address gaps in care.
• Front desk duties: scheduling, records requests, documentation, referrals, and check-in/check-out.
• Record data in medical records per guidelines.
• Process test results and communicate timely results to patients.
• Participate in outreach to patients to drive engagement.
• Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment.
