Job summary

UNM Hospital in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a full-time front and back office clerk to support the Medicine Clinics. You will collect patient data, obtain medical history, prepare instruments, and coordinate appointments while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Duties also include basic cashiering, data entry, confirming insurance coverage, and assisting providers during procedures. Bilingual English and Spanish is highly valued; CPR/BLS certification is preferred and training is

Qualifications

• High School or GED Equivalent
• MA accred pgm graduate or 2 yrs MA experience on DD Form 214
• UNMH MA Safe Med Admin Course Completion w/in 90 Days

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Patient Centered Medical Home standards and promote care quality.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge; manage prescriptions.
• Set up sterile fields and chaperone during procedures.
• Perform routine non-invasive treatments and basic phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Administer medications per policy and document findings.
• Enter data into systems, verify accuracy, and schedule appointments.
• Perform basic cashiering and handle patient payments.
• Maintain sanitary work area and restock supplies.
• Support patient safety and report hazards.
