Job summary

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent required.
• MA accreditation program graduate or 2 years MA experience.
• Completion of UNMH MA Safe Med Admin Course within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• PATIENT CENTERED MED - Adhere to and promote core expectations of the Patient Centered Medical Home or Patient Centered Specialty Practice as applicable.
• PATIENT CARE - Assist in preparation of patient care including admission, transfer and discharge; phone in prescriptions; assist the provider with treatments and setting up sterile fields.
• PATIENT CARE - Perform routine non-invasive procedures including saturation, urine dipsticks; may perform phlebotomy, ear irrigation, catheterization, and EKGs.
• MEDICATION - Administer medication including Parenteral routes; document and communicate clinical findings after UNMH MA Medication Administration course.
• PATIENT CARE - Perform basic initial screening; take vitals; record chief complaints; report changes to appropriate personnel.
• DATA - Enter data into computer; verify data; schedule appointments; answer calls; relay messages to providers.
• CASHIER - Perform basic cashiering; collect monies; balance cash register.
• ENVIRONMENT - Maintain sanitary work areas and supply PAR levels; report equipment issues.
• CUSTOMER SERVICE - Provide quality service and patient satisfaction.
• PATIENT SAFETY - Follow patient safety policies; identify and report safety concerns.
• PATIENT SAFETY - Demonstrate proactive patient safety by questioning current policies.
• PATIENT SAFETY - Report potential safety concerns and medication errors promptly.
