Our philosophy is based on four underlying principles: 1) deliver high quality care; 2) prioritize the patient experience; 3) provide personalized care centered on the patient’s goals; and 4) leverage a team-based, holistic model of approach to care delivery.We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant – Float to support Welcome Health’s clinical operations and provide coverage across our clinic locations as needed. This position will be primarily stationed at our Riverside clinic and will be expected to travel to our other Welcome Health clinic locations when additional staffing coverage or operational support is needed.This is primarily an in-clinic position and may also include supporting home-based patient care responsibilities as needed.What you will doClinical SupportAssist clinicians with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in the clinicsetting.Room patients and obtain vital signs, chief complaints, and medication history.Review and update medications, allergies, and relevant patient information in themedical record.Perform phlebotomy, laboratory draws, and other clinical tasks as needed.Perform patient screenings according to established protocols.Under the direction of a provider, support appropriate Medical Assistant visits,including vaccinations and procedures such as ABI, spirometry, EKGs, ear lavage,and other approved clinical procedures.Perform waived laboratory testing in accordance with clinic protocols.Prepare examination rooms and ensure appropriate supplies and equipment areavailable.Assist providers with patient flow to support patient clinic operations.Follow established infection prevention, patient safety, and clinical qualitystandards.Float / Clinic CoverageMaintain Riverside as the primary assigned work location.Provide Medical Assistant coverage at other Welcome Health clinic locations whenoperational or staffing needs arise.Travel between clinic locations as assigned by Clinical Operations leadership.Adapt to the workflows, provider schedules, and staffing needs of each assignedclinic.Provide coverage for scheduled and unscheduled staff absences, PTO, leaves ofabsence, vacancies, or increased patient volume.Work collaboratively with Practice Managers, providers, Medical Assistants, PatientService Representatives, and other members of the clinical team.Maintain consistent Welcome Health workflows and standards regardless ofassigned clinic location.Patient Care CoordinationRequest, obtain, and maintain patient medical records.Ensure patient histories and clinical documentation are accurate and complete.Assist with referrals, authorizations, diagnostic testing, and medication refillrequests as directed by the provider.Follow up with patients regarding provider-directed clinical needs.Support care-gap and preventive-care activities, including outreach andcoordination when assigned.Assist with preparation for Annual Wellness Visits and other preventive or chronic carevisits as appropriate.Administrative DutiesConduct routine quality-control checks, including infection-control measures,equipment checks, and expiration-date reviews for medications and clinicalsupplies.Order supplies and maintain appropriate inventory and stocking of examinationrooms.Participate in care-team and clinic-operations meetings.Provide support for inbound patient calls when needed.Assist with clinic opening, closing, and daily operational workflows as assigned.Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.Follow Welcome Health policies, procedures, and standardized clinical workflows.Perform other duties as assigned.Your Qualifications- Experience delivering clinical care, preferably in an out-patient or in-home setting- Prior experience working with older adults (65+) is strongly preferred- Active Medical Assistant certification- Basic proficiency in MS office products- Experience using Athena is preferred- Thrives in a fast paced, ever-changing environment, and excited to help build a great organization- Comfortable with ambiguity and can work independently- Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
