Job summary

Norman Regional is seeking a Medical Assistant to screen patients, collect information, and assist physicians during visits in a day-shift PRN role. You will maintain exam rooms and support clinic operations, with emphasis on age-appropriate patient communication.

Requires a high school diploma and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience. BLS certification is required; CMA/RMA preferred.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant Training or equivalent experience required.

Experience

• Prefer at least one year experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room and/or a hospital setting that provides patient care.
• Prefer medical office, insurance, referral and prior authorization, hospital or computer experience.
• Experience in office clerical activities desirable.

(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)

Licensure/Certification

• Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment.
• CMA or RMA preferred.

Compensation

• $15.46-$25.24/hr depending on previous work experience.
• Position qualifies for $1.75/hr PRN differential
