Job summary

PIH Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to work under general supervision, performing patient-specific tasks and maintaining knowledge of their scope of practice. The role may involve floating between departments and occasional travel.

Responsibilities include processing outside referrals (HMO/PPO) and keeping accurate records while coordinating outcomes with involved parties. Applicants should have formal MA training and a valid CA driver’s license if in the Float Pool.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Competency validation required if a practice is acquired by PIH Health.
• Must have California Driver’s License if hired into Medical Assistant Float Pool.
• Minimum 6 months front/back medical office experience; 2 years preferred; 10 years with the physician/practice.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of patient-specific duties under general supervision.
• May float between departments and travel periodically.
• Process outside referrals including HMO and PPO and notify concerned parties of outcomes.
