Franciscan Alliance, Inc. is seeking Medical Assistant Floats to support multiple ambulatory clinics in the Chesterton area of Indiana. The role involves assisting providers, coordinating patient care, scheduling, and documenting in the EMR under RN/Provider supervision.

Travel is required up to 50% to regional offices. A High School Diploma or GED, a Medical Assisting program, and BLS certification are required. Sign-on bonus and enhanced benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a Medical Assisting program is required.
• In lieu of a program, 5 years of medical assistant experience is acceptable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Multiple Medical Assistant credentials are recognized.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of clinical duties for ambulatory clinics.

At Franciscan, our Medical Assistant Floats are criticalfor supporting a variety of clinical duties for multiple ambulatory clinics. This role assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care, scheduling appointments, executing physician orders for lab testing, entering information in electronic medical record system, and functions as a liaison between patients, coworkers, and providers.

• Provide a more personal approach to direct patient care in a variety of outpatientsettings, which may include rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining a comprehensivemedical history, document care of patient via electronic medical record, administeringvaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing and medicationreconciliation under the supervision of RN/Provider.
• Gather requirements from internal and external customers and provide informationvia phone, electronic messaging and in person.
• Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and process samplemedications, prescriptions, and refills as directed.
• Ability to adapt to different work styles, ability to multitask, work well with others, and flexibility preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required High School Diploma/GED
• Required Program Medical Assisting
• Required Program In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
