Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a Medical Assistant – Float to support multiple specialty practices across Connecticut. The role involves rooming patients, taking vital signs, and assisting with procedures while maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic health record.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least six months of related experience; an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance or national certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience is required.
• Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance preferred; National Certification as a Medical Assistant a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam and treatment rooms. Prepares patients for examination and treatment.
• Obtains pertinent history, enters into the medical record including chief complaint, medical and surgical history, allergies, medications, and appropriate review of systems, and takes/documents patient vital signs.
• Processes and files all lab/diagnostic test results, correspondence, clinical notes in patients’ chart after they have been reviewed by the physician.
• Coordinates patient flow in the office. Collaborates with receptionist to make certain that patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assists front office personnel by answering the telephone, scheduling patient appointments, and other tasks as needed.

Medical Assistant – Float (Multi-Specialty) provides flexible clinical support across a variety of specialty practices, stepping in to assist where coverage is needed most. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, administering medications, assisting with procedures, and maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Adapts quickly to different workflows and collaborates with a wide range of care teams to ensure smooth, high-quality patient experiences. Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Knowledge of medical assisting normally associated with obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance is preferred, National Certification as a Medical Assistant a plus
