Job summary

Neighborhood is seeking a Float Medical Assistant to support providers across South Riverside County sites including Menifee, Temecula, and Hemet. You will perform vital signs, vaccines, EKGs, and other procedures while educating patients in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Requires MA certificate and BLS; valid CA driver license and 1 year MA experience preferred. The role offers varied site assignments and a team-focused environment with patient care at the forefront.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited program required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required on hire and maintained.
  • One year of medical assistant experience preferred.
  • Valid CA driver license and proof of auto insurance required.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates and performs clinical care services with patients.
  • Takes patient vital signs and collects intake information.
  • Performs clinical procedures (blood draws, vaccines, nebulizers, EKGs).
  • Provides patient education and resources.
  • Keeps exam rooms stocked, cleaned and ready for examinations.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Medical Assistant will support various providers, advanced providers, and registered nurses to provide excellent patient-centered care and services within a dynamic team environment. This role will communicate with patients and performs clinical services to ensure high quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

**This opportunity is for a Float Medical Assistant role supporting the following areas:

  • All South Riverside County sites, Menifee, Temecula, and Hemet

This role will be expected to float between these sites based on organizational needs.**

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Communicates and performs clinical care services with patients
  • Takes patient vital signs and obtains patient intake information
  • Performs clinical procedures such as blood draws, vaccines, nebulizer treatments, ear lavages, and EKGs
  • Discusses patient needs and provides education and resources to patients directly
  • Ensures exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and set up for examinations and procedures
Provider And Team Support
  • Coordinates provider workflows to ensure efficient patient care
  • Ensures provider has all pertinent information required for each patient visit including diagnostic images, labs and required screenings
  • Assists other providers and care teams in women’s health, pediatrics and general medicine departments as needed
Clinical Administration
  • Utilizes electronic health records to order, process and document clinical treatment plans for patient as directed by the provider
  • Conveys information to patients via telephone or email under the direction of a provider or Registered Nurse
  • Provides patient with requested documents after review to ensure forms are complete, accurate and executed by the provider
  • Completes ongoing/annual training for position compliance
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Valid Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited program required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire and must be maintained as a condition of employment. These courses must follow AHA guidelines, but may be completed through approved online providers such as ProMed or other equivalent programs that meet recognized BLS standards.
  • One year of medical assistant experience preferred
  • Valid CA driver license and proof of auto insurance required
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Arabic) highly preferred
  • Familiarity with medical procedures and terminology
  • Proficiency with electronic health records system experience preferred
  • Intermediate computer and data entry skills
  • Must use sound judgment to anticipate needs of patients and providers
  • Flexibility with changing priorities and time sensitive deadlines
  • Use emotional and cultural intelligence to provide appropriate communication and patient care
  • Exemplify compassion to patients and team members
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift/carry 15 lbs/weight
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
Pay range:

$24.95 to $34.93 per hour, depending on experience.

Note:

This Float Medical Assistant role will include an additional $2.00 per hour float differential on top of the standard Medical Assistant pay rate.
