Job summary

Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care in Norwich, CT is seeking a Medical Assistant to support exam rooms and front-office operations. You will assist providers with exams, perform vital signs, wound care, EKGs, specimen collection, and other clinical tasks to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The ideal candidate will have a Medical Assistant program graduation or a high school diploma with MA training, familiarity with EHR/EMR, CPR certification, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems.
• CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
• A commitment to confidentiality, safety, and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments while ensuring a smooth and compassionate patient experience.
• Perform vital signs, wound care, diagnostic testing (e.g., EKG, PCR), specimen collection, and more.
• Manage patient records, handle correspondence, and support front office operations.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment, and support training of new staff.
