A leading healthcare provider in Connecticut is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide general medical care under the direction of licensed providers. Responsibilities include obtaining patient vitals, explaining treatments, administering medications, and maintaining accurate documentation in a fast-paced outpatient clinic. Ideal candidates possess an Associates degree or equivalent, with AMT registration or AAMA certification preferred. Qualifications

• Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Six months to one-year related experience and/or training.
• AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and prepare the patient for a physical exam.
• Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
• Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and timely.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Draw blood and prepare labs for processing.
• Perform laboratory tests and equipment maintenance.
• Respond to lab messages and call back requests.
• Conduct physician referrals and service pre-certifications.
• Prepare exam rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Maintain complete documentation.
