Job summary

UnitedHealthcare, a part of UnitedHealth Group, invites qualified Medical Assistants to join a collaborative primary care team. You will provide direct patient care, perform assessments, and support the physician and nurse practitioners in a fast-paced clinic.

You will triage calls, document in EMR, maintain exam rooms, and help implement new clinic processes while ensuring patient education and self-management support. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Current CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• 1+ years of clinic experience or related experience in a medical setting.
• Knowledge of OSHA/HIPAA compliance.
• Computer experience (EMR training preferred).

Responsibilities

• Addresses the total patient, inclusive of medical, psychosocial, behavioral, cultural, and spiritual needs.
• Involves the individual patient and caregiver, as appropriate, in decision making.
• Facilitates communication and coordination among members of the care team.
• Provides patient care to include patient assessment prior to physician's/nurse practitioner's examination, serves as patient advocate/liaison by answering questions related to care and treatment, as appropriate, provides patient education and self-management support, implements physician orders and assists providers with procedures.
• Escorts patient to exam room.
