Job summary

Piedmont Urgent Care is hiring a Medical Assistant to join a fast-paced clinical team. You will prepare patients, perform triage, document patient history, collect lab specimens, and assist with medications and injections.

The role also covers IV starts, catheter placement, and various clinical procedures, with opportunities for occupational medicine tasks and career growth. Applicants should have an accredited Medical Assistant program, 1+ year healthcare experience, and proficiency with EMR

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• 1+ year of healthcare experience (urgent care or ER a plus); willing to train outstanding new graduates
• Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures
• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, EPIC preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays
• A positive, proactive approach to patient care and collaboration

Responsibilities

• Patient Preparation: assist with preparing patients for examinations and treatments
• Triage & Vital Signs: perform triage and take vital signs accurately
• Documenting Patient History: obtain and document detailed patient history in EMR
• Lab Specimens: collect routine laboratory specimens
• Medication & Injections: administer medications and injections
• Clinical Procedures: start IVs, place catheters, and perform splinting
• Clinical & Laboratory Procedures: support patient care with basic procedures
• Occupational Medicine: assist with drug screening, audiograms, and pulmonary testing
• Compliance: ensure HIPAA/OSHA compliance
• Administrative Duties: office procedures and equipment operation
• Quality Assurance: ensure QC programs and CLIA compliance
• Travel: support staffing at other Piedmont Urgent Care locations
