Job summary

Corewell Health Urgent Care in Taylor, MI is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join a fast-paced clinical team. You will prepare patients, perform triage, take vital signs, collect specimens, administer injections, and support both clinical and administrative tasks to keep the practice running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution (diploma or certificate).
• Current CMA or RMA certification preferred or required.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience in an urgent care or ER/hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Patient Preparation: Assist with preparing patients for examinations and treatments, ensuring they are comfortable and well-informed.
• Triage & Vital Signs: Perform triage and take vital signs accurately.
• Documenting Patient History: Obtain and document detailed patient history in our EMR system.
• Lab Specimens: Collect routine laboratory specimens, including blood, urine, and oral swabs.
• Medication & Injections: Administer medications and injections.
• Clinical Procedures: Suture and staple removal and perform splinting as needed.
• Occupational Medicine: Assist with drug screening, breath alcohol testing, audiograms, and pulmonary function testing.
• Compliance: Ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
• Administrative Duties: Handle office procedures and operate medical equipment.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure CLIA waived testing and patient result tracking.
• Travel Requirement: Travel to other Corewell Health Urgent Care locations as needed.
