Job summary

Corewell Health Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a fast-paced clinical team, providing hands-on patient care, triage, and assisting with examinations.

This role offers a 3-day/12-hour shift schedule (8 AM - 8 PM), no overnights, competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, PTO, holidays, 401K match, and opportunities for professional growth and certification reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Completion of Medical Assistant program (diploma or certificate) from an accredited institution.
• Current CMA/RMA certification or registration.
• Minimum 2 years of MA experience in urgent care or ER/hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Patient Preparation: Assist with preparing patients for examinations and treatments.
• Triage & Vital Signs: Perform triage and take vital signs accurately.
• Documenting Patient History: Obtain and document detailed patient history in EMR.
• Lab Specimens: Collect routine laboratory specimens (blood, urine, oral swabs).
• Medication & Injections: Administer medications and injections (IM, SC, ID).
• Clinical Procedures: Splinting, suture/staple removal, ear/eye wash, procedure setup.
• Clinical & Laboratory Procedures: Basic clinical and lab procedures to support patient care.
• Occupational Medicine: Drug screening, breath alcohol testing, audiograms, pulmonary function testing.
• Compliance: HIPAA/OSHA compliance.
• Administrative Duties: Office procedures and equipment operation.
• Quality Assurance: CLIA waivers and patient result trackers.
• Travel: Travel to Beaumont Urgent Care locations as needed.
